Originating in Egypt, the word dukkah comes from the Arabic “to pound”, reflecting the traditional way the ingredients were crushed together to create this deliciously textured blend. This classic version combines hazelnuts, sesame, coriander and cumin, finished simply with sea salt and pepper.

The traditional way to enjoy dukkah is wonderfully simple — dip fresh crusty bread into extra virgin olive oil, then into the dukkah and enjoy. But once you have a jar in the pantry, you’ll quickly discover there’s so much more you can do with it.
