Welcome to Tussock & Thread. These Terms & Conditions apply when you use www.tussockandthread.co.nz or place an order through our online store. Please read them alongside our Shipping & Click & Collect Policy, Returns & Exchanges Policy and Privacy Policy.

1. About Tussock & Thread

Tussock & Thread is a New Zealand boutique at 55a Main Street, Oxford, North Canterbury, New Zealand. Prices displayed on our website are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include GST unless clearly stated otherwise.

2. Placing an order

Please provide accurate contact, delivery and payment information so we can process your order.

After you place an order, we’ll send an acknowledgement to the email address you provide. If an item is unavailable, a listing contains an error, or we cannot process an order for a reasonable reason such as suspected fraud, we’ll contact you. If we cannot fulfil an item you’ve paid for, we’ll refund the amount paid for that item.

3. Products and availability

We take care to describe and photograph our products accurately. Colours may look slightly different depending on your screen, and availability can change as items sell in store and online.

If a product you receive does not match its description or meet the guarantees required by New Zealand law, please contact us so we can put things right.

4. Prices and payment

The price of each item and any applicable delivery charge will be shown at checkout before you place your order. Payments are processed through the payment options offered at checkout. We’ll begin processing your order once payment is confirmed.

We may change prices and promotions for future orders. A change will not affect an order we have already accepted, unless we contact you about an error and you agree to proceed on revised terms.

5. Shipping and Click & Collect

We deliver throughout New Zealand and offer free standard shipping on eligible New Zealand orders over $150. Some products may be excluded because of their size, weight, delivery location or handling requirements. Any applicable shipping charge will be shown at checkout.

We may change our free-shipping offer for future orders. Delivery timeframes are estimates, and free Click & Collect is available from our Oxford store. Please see our Shipping & Click & Collect Policy for full details.

If we arrange delivery, we remain responsible for our obligations under New Zealand consumer law if an order arrives damaged, late or not at all.

6. Returns and exchanges

Our Returns & Exchanges Policy explains how to request an exchange or store credit if you change your mind, and what to do if an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.

Nothing in these Terms or our store policies limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

7. Gift cards

Gift cards may be used in accordance with the conditions provided when they are purchased. Gift cards sold from March 2026 must have an expiry date of at least three years from the date of sale under New Zealand law. Gift cards cannot generally be exchanged for cash, except where required by law.

If a gift card is lost or stolen, please contact us with proof of purchase. We’ll check whether an unused balance can be identified and what assistance is possible; replacement cannot be guaranteed.

8. Website content

The images, logos, writing and other content on our website belong to Tussock & Thread or are used with permission. Please ask us before reproducing or using them for commercial purposes.

9. Website availability and liability

We work to keep our website accurate and available, but occasional errors or interruptions may occur. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by website interruptions or by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

This section does not exclude any remedy or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under New Zealand consumer law.

10. Privacy

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable New Zealand privacy law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version and its effective date will be posted on this page. Changes will apply to future use of the website and future orders; they will not remove rights you already have in relation to an earlier purchase.
